Merk Snack Bar is closing its doors in Hamilton

A Hamilton nightlife spot for tapas, cocktails, and relaxed vibes has sadly announced that it is closing its doors.
Merk Snack Bar has been open at 189 Ottawa Street North for a number of years, cementing itself as a popular place for chill atmosphere that well complements a fun menu of food & drink.
Chef Mark Baker favoured small plates with international influences on his appealing menu which includes favourites like scotch eggs, Korean fried chicken, Irish nachos, jerk chicken taquitos, pork belly lettuce wraps, tacos, and beyond.
House cocktails and mocktails rounded things off, as well as an alleyway patio that became a popular summer hang in the Crown Point neighbourhood.
However, after multiple years and some terrific milestones, Merk Snack Bar has shared its plans to close up shop at the end of January.
“The universe seems to have other plans for Merk right now. So I gotta listen as much as it sucks and is the hardest decision I’ve had to make so far in my life. I’ll miss seeing you all come in to have a good time with us and enjoy the vibes,” wrote Baker in a post on social media.
Thankfully, there’s still time to visit Merk Snack Bar, so pop by before the end of January to grab some food and say goodbye!
