Modern Italian restaurant in Hamilton closes its original location

A restaurant known for hearty, modern Italian cuisine has closed one of its locations in Hamilton.
Caro first opened its doors at 4 Ottawa Street North in 2018 as an approachable and contemporary spot for Italian classics like chicken parmesan, carbonara, gnocchi, Neapolitan-style pizzas, and more.
The success of the Ottawa Street location led to the launch of a sister restaurant on James Street North; and now, that second location has turned into the only as the original Caro has officially closed.
“It has been a long road to get here, and like so many small businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges over the past few years,” wrote Caro in a social media post.
“The restaurant industry has been tested in ways we never could have imagined, and while we’ve done everything we can to stay afloat, this chapter has sadly come to an end.”
Though Caro on Ottawa Street is bidding farewell after a seven-year run, Caro on James North remains open for those looking to get their fix of quality, homestyle pasta and pizza.
