Heads up, Hamilton: a hotly anticipated new Italian-style eatery has finally flung open its door and fired up its pizza ovens on James Street North.
That restaurant is Martello; the latest brainchild of Harrison Hennick and Gaby Gwyn-Newman of Nique Restaurant, another popular James North staple.
With a menu of fresh pastas, wood-fired pizzas, Italian-style sandwiches, baked goods, as well as wine & beer, Martello is poised to become one of James North’s most popular foodie hangouts; especially with its stunning lived-in dining room that features a distinctive old world feel, and its massive outdoor courtyard out back.
Though some lucky locals (including me!) got an early taste of Martello a few weeks ago when they offered their fantastic margherita pizzas for two bucks each as a soft launch promo, the Hamilton masses will finally get to formally experience Martello’s terrific food starting tonight, Thursday October 8th at 5 pm; even though the restaurant is still awaiting its liquor license.
Located on James North near Barton Street, Martello promises to be a delicious addition to the James North nightlife strip, so go check it out, Hamilton!
