New pub is opening in former Brux House space in Hamilton

Though Hamilton deeply felt the loss of longstanding craft beer bar and restaurant Brux House last year, its former home at 137 Locke Street South won’t be vacant for long.

The space will be the new home of an enticing new public house called The Lockesmith: the latest restaurant project by the team behind local Italian spot Caro and modern steakhouse Victoria’s.

This new restaurant and bar looks to have some of the features locals came to love about the well-missed Brux House: a moody, immersive atmosphere that’s classy yet approachable with an attractive menu of food and drink to boot.

With a kitchen headed by Executive Chef Julian Rogers, The Lockesmith’s food appears to lean into the casual-fine dining side of things, with elevated pub-style bites that run from simple offerings like well-crafted burger or dishes that are a little more involved like duck confit wrapped in puff pastry.

Share plates, cocktails, craft beer, wine, and more will round things off here, bringing a modern pub experience to the Locke Street strip and an intriguing new addition to Hamilton’s food scene.

More details about The Lockesmith are still to come, so follow them on social media to stay updated!
