New spot for playful tapas and more opening in Hamilton

Hamilton is getting a playful new restaurant specializing in internationally-inspired tapas, cocktails, and more. 

The District Tapas + Bar will be opening a Hamilton location soon at 61 Barton Street East, close to the corner of Barton and James North in the former home of The Butcher and the Vegan: a space which has otherwise remained empty for the past 7 years.

Building on a successful flagship location in St. Catharines that opened in 2020, The District has already become a favourite for an extensive menu of fun small bites and share plates of global influence. 

Some examples from their St. Catharines menu include items like the Bao Mac, a dish that loads the familiar toppings of a McDonalds Big Mac onto fluffy Chinese bao; duck confit tacos; chicken and pancakes, a clear riff on chicken and waffles; and a loaded Gnocchi Supreme with bacon, scallion, sour cream, cheese sauce, and bruschetta mix. 

Pastas, desserts, and a stacked menu of beverages round things off, making The District Tapas + Bar a new spot we can’t wait to check out once it opens! 

A firm opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but follow The District on social media to stay in the know.
