A different kind of fried chicken spot just opened its doors in Hamilton and we can’t wait to give it a try.
Monga Fried Chicken has soft-launched a location in Westdale Village, bringing the enticing flavours of Taiwanese fried chicken – a street food staple – to Hamilton.
What sets Taiwanese fried chicken apart from western approaches to the dish is that boneless chicken fillets are first marinated in honey, and dipped in batter rather than dry flour before frying.
The result is a large, thick piece of fried chicken made with a variety of flavours and finishes like cheese and select seasonings.
With popular existing locations in Toronto, North York, Richmond Hill, and Mississauga, this marks Monga Chicken’s very first location in Hamilton at 1050 King Street West: the former home of Manna Korean Takeout.
It won’t be surprising to see Monga Fried Chicken become and extremely popular spot for a sort of indulgent comfort food you won’t see many other places in Hamilton!
