Out and About with urbanicity HBSA Celebrate 2014 Gala

On a beautiful snowy Thursday evening, the Art Gallery of Hamilton was filled with architects; gathering to celebrate the Hamilton Burlington Society of Architects and their 2014 Awards of Excellence. Not only was this a beautiful awards celebration, it was also a fundraiser and $5,000 was raised for the United Way.

After being welcomed by Society Chair Drew Hauser (McCallum Sather Architects), the awards were handed out. The awards were presented by Graham McNally of Toms + McNally Designs, incoming Chair of the HBSA along with such notable names as Terry Cooke, CEO of the Hamilton Community Foundation, Rick Goldring, Mayor of Burlington, Paul Berton, Editor in Chief of the Spectator, among others.

TCA | Thier + Curran Architects won 3 awards, as did McCallum Sather Architects / MSA, while Perkins + Will and Cynthia Zahoruk Architect each took home one award. See below for a full list of Awards and Winners.

Following these awards, Joanne McCallum of McCallum Sather Architects/MSA presented Mr. Anthony Butler with the Lifetime Service Award. As a lifelong Hamiltonian, he has given so much to his community and our city. What a privilege to witness this award.

This was a great evening for the HBSA and a true celebration of the beautiful work this amazingly gifted group of professionals do in our city.
