Popular Burlington restaurant & bar closes its doors

A newer restaurant in Burlington that has gained local popularity since opening has announced that it is closing its doors.

Pier 53 Restaurant, located at 5353 Lakeshore Road in Burlington, first opened its doors in Fall of 2019 to serve up comforting pub-style eats and international fare in a relaxed nautical-themed setting.

The extensive family-friendly menu featured shareable appetizers, charcuterie, creative poutines, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, pastas, and main dishes like butter chicken and fish & chips.

Sadly, for personal health-related reasons and due to staff issues prompted by the pandemic, Pier 53 has closed its doors permanently after just over 3 years in business serving the Burlington community.

It’s sad to see any family-run small business close up shop and, judging by the outpouring of messages left by local patrons on Pier 53’s social media, this restaurant will be especially missed.
