Popular Hamilton pizza place opens new sit-down restaurant

A popular Hamilton pizza spot – considered by many to be among the city’s best – has opened a second location in the form of a full sit-down restaurant with a stacked menu.

Cowabunga Pizzeria made a splash when it opened its takeaway-only spot on the Hamilton Mountain, merging the culinary talents of folks who previously worked at spots like Shorty’s Pizza, MaiPai Tiki Bar, and Quatrefoil to make standout pies using high quality ingredients and creative recipes.

The fevered popularity from Cowabunga has now allowed them to open Cowabunga+, which is a new full-service restaurant located just off of James Street North at 30 Vine Street.

At the new restaurant, locals can expect all of their Cowabunga favourites like the 1Up, a white pizza which harmoniously marries truffle cream, truffle oil, honey, and chilli; and the eponymous Cowabunga pizza, topped with popcorn chicken, pineapple, peanut, and scallion.

On top of the that, the restaurant will feature shareable plates, burgers, salads, pizza flights with choice of slices, and more; all built with the creative culinary touches Cowabunga has become known for.

The restaurant has been offering sneak peek experiences and will be soft-launching today, Thursday, March 16th – from 12 pm to 9 pm for dine-in and takeaway.
