One of Hamilton’s highly rated spots for authentic Indian cuisine has quietly closed its doors.
Royal Spice was located at 1443 Main Street East in the city’s east end, serving up Indian and Hakka dishes including fragrant and flavourful curries, biryani, and much more in both meat and vegetarian varieties after opening its doors in February 2019.
However, with no public warning, Royal Spice had closed the doors of its Main East location, which was the last one standing after their second location on Main West near McMaster University – opened in 2020 – also shuttered.
There’s been no social media post that explains the reason for the closure, but their website has vanished and a Google search for Royal Spice reveals the restaurant is permanently closed.
It is also unknown if Royal Spice may be planning to return to Hamilton in some other form in the near future.
See more on their social media.
