Porter Airlines is coming to Hamilton with four new routes

More flight destinations will soon be available out of Hamilton courtesy of Porter Airlines.

The major airline has freshly announced that they will be launching four routes in June flying out of John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport, with daily flights to popular Canadian destinations.

The destinations announced include Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), Halifax (YHZ), and Vancouver (YVR), with all routes operated on 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

“Hamiltonians and their neighbours have long deserved a commitment such as what Porter is making, with four routes connecting them across the country,” says Porter Airlines CEO Michael Deluce.

“We see significant opportunity in this market to expand our network across North America and believe that the community can support these initial flights, which will position us to consider offering additional service from Hamilton.”

This news comes after a string of reduced options for travelling out of Hamilton’s airport. Last summer, WestJet discontinued its flights from Hamilton to destinations in Atlantic Canada, and budget airline Play will be ending its flights to Reykjavik, Iceland after this April.
