Many months after a cyberattack disabled a wide variety of city services – including the computers at Hamilton’s libraries – the Hamilton Public Library (HPL) Central branch has finally resumed offering its computers for public access.
Located at 55 York Boulevard, the Central Library is the largest branch in the HPL’s network and the first branch to regain public computer access since the cyberattack hit the City of Hamilton seven months ago on February 25th.
The HPL is also at work on restoring public computer services at its other branches across the city, with updates to be provided in the coming days and weeks.

The return of public computers to Hamilton’s library system has been long awaited, with many Hamiltonians using those computers as their only means of accessing the internet and online services.
For those who would like to make use of the HPL’s free wifi, it is currently available at all local branches with the exception of Ancaster.
See more on the HPL website.
