Restaurant for Mexican and Mayan food opens in Hamilton

A new Hamilton restaurant for authentic Mexican and Mayan cuisine is blending the old with the new.
Los Mayas is open now at 180 James Street South offering up what they called a fusion of ‘pre-Hispanic and modern Mexican food’ in their eclectic range of dishes.
Familiar Mexican favourites like tacos, quesadillas, and fresh guacamole with tortilla chips balance both modern and traditional recipes and ingredients, while offering the unique experience of early Mayan cuisine as well.
Beer and tasty cocktails like margaritas round things off, all served in a gorgeously decorated restaurant space that used to hold longstanding Italian restaurant La Piazza Allegra, which closed its doors last year.
