Hamilton’s Sharp Knife Shop sees major break-in and theft at Etobicoke store

A Hamilton shop known for its wide range of high quality Japanese knives was the victim of a significant break-in and theft at their second shop in Etobicoke

Sharp Knife Shop, located at 142 James Street South in Hamilton and 195 Norseman Street in Etobicoke, shared the news via social media that their Etociboke storefront was broken into over the weekend, with all of the display knives – representing surely thousands of dollars in product – stolen from the walls.

Sharp’s owner Gage Corlett posted a video to Instagram explaining that the police have been contacted and neighbouring businesses have been asked for any potential security footage that may help identify the culprit.

Corlett also asks locals to keep their eyes on spaces like Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Kijiji, and other places that goods can be sold online. A list of the stolen knives will be posted on Sharp’s Instagram page.

This incident comes only days after a vandalism and theft incident at Dragon’s Fire Golf Club in Hamilton, where 40 golf carts were damaged, greens were defaced, and a clubhouse was broken into with product stolen.
