A giant puddle that formed in the parking lot of a downtown Tim Hortons has become famous on Reddit this weekend.
A photo was shared by Redditor kornick81 on Thursday showing a large puddle outside the Tim Hortons at John Street near Jackson Street; a location notorious for accumulating a large puddle in the parking lot after rainfall.
The original post was titled “The infamous downtown Hamilton Lake” and received a lot of comments with users playing with the idea of taking a canoe out in the water.
On Saturday, Reddit user lactulosefairy shared an image of her doing just that. The photo showed a woman in a small yellow dingy with a paddle looking toward the Tim Hortons.
One commenter appreciated the woman in the image wearing a life jacket saying “More people should practice safe boating.”
There is nothing I love more than taking my yacht out to the lake on a warm day from Hamilton
Another Redditor admired the “Timmies-on-the-lake,” while others suggested naming the large puddle Lake Hortons.
This parking lot is notorious for giant puddles in Hamilton once the spring weather starts to take hold. A large pothole in the parking lot often fills with melted snow and other run-off.
Kudos to Reddit user lactulosefairy for following through in the joke and getting the water sports equipment out early this year.
