Spot for German comfort food opens in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market

German comfort food and all things pickled and fermented are on the menu at an intriguing new stand in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market.

ElderCamp, located on the market’s lower level near other food spots like the Flyin G’nosh and Joshy’s Good Eats, was launched by Kathryn Dieroff as a means of “preserving local food & traditions to share with family.”

The hot menu of German eats features dishes like spaetzle mac & cheese; bratwurst on a bun; Bavarian poutine, which replaces fries for spaetzle; and a sausage and spaetzle bowl with pickled beets, carrot slaw, and sauerkraut.

The market stand will also offer up weekly features like this week’s goulash and spaetzle, and some unique treats like fermented sodas.

We’re more than excited to check out ElderCamp at its new Hamilton Farmers’ Market stand and get our first tastes! Follow them on social media here
