Tesla wants to open Canada’s largest service centre in Hamilton

World-leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has set its sights on Hamilton as the potential future location of its largest sales and service centre in Canada.

The proposed 60,000 square foot facility would be located in the former Home Outfitters store in Lime Ridge Mall on the second floor at the mall’s east side.

Tesla has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Cadillac Fairview – Lime Ridge Mall’s parent company – according to documents shared to Twitter by local independent journalist Joey Coleman.

The service work that would be provided at the proposed centre includes standard servicing of Tesla’s electric vehicles, including software updates; tire balancing and alignment; panel replacing or dent removal; and battery replacement.

The centre would also serve as a sales gallery for new and previously owned Tesla vehicles.

Expected hours of operation would be Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, and the Tesla centre would create approximately 50 local jobs.

What do you think of the possibility of a Tesla sales and service centre in Hamilton? Let us know in the comments!
