Theatre Ancaster brings two heartwarming holiday shows to the Hamilton stage

Theatre Ancaster has long been known for presenting professional-quality community theatre in the Hamilton area, and they’ve got a duo of holiday productions you won’t want to miss.
The first show is an iconic Christmas classic brought to life in a fun format. It’s a Wonderful Life – known best as the 1947 Jimmy Stewart film cherished for generations – will be staged by Theatre Ancaster as a live radio drama from December 6th to 8th.
With 100% of ticket sales benefitting Ancaster Community Service, the radio drama will be performed live by a volunteer company of voice actors performing the play and foley artists creating live sound effects onstage at the Old Firehall Arts Centre (334 Wilson Street East). It promises to be a warm, nostalgic night of holiday entertainment complete with free snacks and hot apple cider!
It’s hard to imagine celebrating the Christmas season without music, which is why the second holiday show in Theatre Ancaster’s season is Cool Yule: an evening of rock, pop, jazz, and funk renditions of your favourite classic and contemporary Christmas songs from Louis Armstrong to the Barenaked Ladies to John Legend to Stevie Wonder and well beyond.
The spirited concert event features the talented Theatre Ancaster Chorus and an all-star rhythm section playing alongside special guest pianist David Atkinson, whose credits include a North American tour of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical sensation Hamilton and the pre-Broadway Toronto run of the smash hit musical & Juliet.
Cool Yule runs for two performances only on December 14th and 15th at the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre (357 Wilson Street East) and locals won’t want to miss this tuneful way of ringing in the holidays.
