Heads up, local foodies: a new meal kit delivery service has launched that features recipes from some of the Hamilton area’s best restaurants.
Chefdrop is a meal kit service not unlike HelloFresh or Chef’s Plate, both of which rose in prominence and popularity through the pandemic as a convenient means of getting pre-portioned ingredients for a diverse range of recipes delivered to your doorstep.
Meal kits are great but often lack flair. ChefDrop has meal kits from top restaurant chefs: Victor Barry, Carl Heinrich, John Sinopoli, Nuit Regular and Elia Herrera to name a few . However, Chefdrop appears to up the ante by curating their portfolio of recipes from some of the GTHA’s best restaurants; including selections from right here in Hamilton’s food scene.
Some of the restaurants with recipes on offer include Toronto staples like the Maple Leaf Tavern, Piano Piano, the Carbon Bar, Richmond Station, and Crafty Ramen.
The Hammer currently has some notable representation through Ray’s Food & Liquor, a popular downtown spot by the corner of King and James known for their elevated Southern-inspired dishes liked fried chicken, shrimp & grits, and much more.
Some of the recipes from Ray’s Food & Liquor available through Chefdrop include enticing options like a 24-hour sous vide short rib with glazed carrots, pomme puree, and cornbread; or the crispy skin salmon with braised lentils and pickled cabbage.
The large list of restaurants that Chefdrop has partnered with is sure to keep growing, and we may even see some more Hamilton spots get added to the lineup over time!
