This latest outbreak – the third simultaneous outbreak at Juravinski – was found in the F5 area of the hospital; a spot for patients who are stable but still require hospital care.
The unit is currently closed for any admissions or visitors except on compassionate grounds, and testing for all remaining staff members and patients in F5 continues.
Additionally, staff members working in F5 will not be permitted to work anywhere else in the hospital until the outbreak is over.
This new outbreak quickly follows the other recent outbreaks confirmed on December 3rd in the E3 unit, and on December 4th in the B3 unit. The infected staff members and student are now self-isolating.
