Hamilton is home to many local Italian eateries with amazing pasta dishes. Pasta comes in many different forms to meet everyone’s liking. Whether you’re into a hearty homemade meat sauce or a light pesto sauce, Hamilton has a pasta spot for you!
If you’d like to know where to go for some of the best pasta in town, here’s our 2023 list of the top 10 pasta spots in Hamilton.
10) Bronzies Place
An Italian restaurant with a comfortable and homey feel, Bronzies Place serves delicious pasta in Hamilton. They have so many pasta options to choose from such as Spaghetti or Penne in your choice of sauce, Spaghetti Alfredo, Cheese Ravioli, Gnocchi, Pesto Pasta, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Chicken or Veal Parmesan.
All delicious pasta dishes are served with tasty salad as well as Italian bread & Italian dressing. Bronzies Place is located downtown on James Street South!
9) Rugantino
This restaurant’s pasta menu is a little smaller, however their dishes are definitely quality over quantity! Rugantino is another downtown spot with authentic Italian pasta dishes.
Dishes such as Spicy Arrabiata, oil-based Mezzanotte, Carbonara, and Gnocchi Bolognese would all be a great pick if you’re in the mood for a good bowl of pasta.
8) Paninoteca
On top of its well known Italian subs and sandwiches, Paninoteca serves delicious pasta dishes! They serve typical pasta such as penne and spaghetti in their tasty, homemade tomato sauce as well as meat ravioli. They also serve a popular dish called Pasta Al Forno which is penne in their meat sauce baked with cheese, as well as lasagna and Penne Arrabiata.
Paninoteca’s pasta is authentically tasty and also quite affordable! This restaurant is located on the mountain near the corner of Rymal and Upper James.
7) The Express Restaurant
This Italian eatery is known for their gourmet pastas and is a beloved spot in Hamilton. They have a few locations in area, two of which are in Hamilton. The Express Restaurant is a local favorite in both Westdale and Stoney Creek.
Their pasta menu includes Penne Bolognese, Beef or Lobster Ravioli, Chicken Tetrazzini, Gnocchi Rose, Penne Alla Carbonara, Fettuccine Pesto, Spaghetti Primavera, Spaghetti Con Polpette, and more!
6) Arties
Previously known as Pasta Mercato, this eatery has rebranded and expanded as Arties on Locke Street. Arties is a little different from the other pasta spots mentioned, being more of a take home style shop. Arties sells a variety of homemade Italian goods such as pastas, pasta sauces, sweets, coffee, and more.
Despite the fact Arties is closer to a grocery store than a restaurant, that doesn’t make their pasta any less good. People all over the city head to Arties when they want to make tasty pasta at home! Their pasta is made from scratch as well as their homemade pasta sauces.
5) CIMA Enoteca
A Locke Street Favorite, CIMA Enoteca serves some of the best Italian food in town! Their delicious pasta dishes are known for drawing the locals in. Some dishes served include Spaghetti al Cacio e Pepe, Linguine e Acciughe, Tagliatelle e Pomodoro, Gnocchi Melanzana, Rigatoni al Pomodoro, and Tagliatelle e Nduja.
These dishes are all authentic Italian pastas and you won’t be disappointed. CIMA Enoteca has a variety of unique pastas with many different tastes so if you like something different, check this out!
4) La Cantina
La Cantina is a downtown, family-owned restaurant that has been in the city for years now. Their menu consists of many gourmet and homemade pasta dishes. Some of these options include their traditional Veal Lasagna, Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Penne con Salsiccia, Rigatoni Bolognese, Ravioli alla Ricotta, Linguine al Pescatore, Spaghetti alla Puttanesca and Spaghetti Ortolano.
La Cantina is a great restaurant for both lunch and dinner and they also offer a takeout option. They also have a variety of wines available that would go perfect with one of their fresh, warm bowls of pasta!
3) Baci Ristorante
Baci Ristorante is located within the “C” Hotel by Carmen’s at 1530 Stone Church Road East. This restaurant is well known for its delicious authentic pastas. Some of the delicious menu items served are Penne Arrabbiata, Ravioli Caprese, Penne Palo Alfredo, Seafood Lasagna, Cavatelli: a sunflower seed and pesto pasta dish, and a Ricotta Lumache dish.

2) Valentinos
Valentinos is a very popular, well known spot for authentic pasta in Hamilton. They have a variety of pasta dishes like Mushroom Risotto, Shrimp and Scallop Pasta, Italian Style Mac and Cheese and of course, the build your own option! Like most Italian restaurants, Valentinos serves many other dishes and appetizers.
Valentinos has two locations: the Westdale location is on 824 King Street West and the Hamilton Mountain location is located on 835 Paramount Drive.
1) La Spaghett Pasta House
This pasta house is a local favourite on the Hamilton Mountain. La Spaghett Pasta House has been a local business to Hamilton for more than 20 years now. The goal of the pasta house is to ensure there is an option for everyone. They have over 30 pasta options that can be customized to your liking.
The menu consists of a long list of many different pasta sauces where you can choose a type of pasta to go with your choice of sauce. The 30 different sauces range from the following types; tomato based, cream based, pesto sauces, cheese sauces, extra virgin oil sauces, and even butter sauce!

04.04.2023 2:03 amYou missed the best Pasta place in Hamilton. They have been in business for over 40 years, best Italian around comes from Chicago Style on Upper Sherman. I travel for St. Catharines at least once a month to get great meaty flavorful Lasagna and pizza, it’s a no-brainer, number uno !
