Vegan burger spot in Burlington is closing its doors

A Burlington burger joint specializing in plant-based patties and other vegan eats has announced it will be closing its doors.

Boon Burger, located at 399 Elizabeth Street in Burlington, shared the news of its closure on social media in a farewell message after 6 years in business.

“To us, Boon has always felt like it’s own little community, and we really got to see and feel that this weekend,” wrote the restaurant on Instagram.

“We know many of you will miss us here, but I can promise you that we’ll miss you more.”

Boon Burger was known for serving up a menu of fast food-style indulgences like satisfying burgers, chicken sandwiches, loaded wraps, pizzas, sausages, poutines, and much more; all of it made without a scrap of meat or dairy in sight.

The food was so good, in fact, that even non-vegans also kept coming back for Boon’s bountiful bites.

Boon Burger also recently had a Hamilton location on Ottawa Street North that closed its doors a few years ago and turned into another vegan comfort food restaurant – Sweet Beets – which itself closed recently as well.

Fans of Boon’s vegan eats can still get their fix at its lone remaining location a relatively short drive out of Hamilton at 497 Dundas Street West in Oakville.
