Willow Salon celebrates 20 stylish years in Hamilton

A hair salon with healthy roots in the Hamilton community is celebrating an impressive 20 years in business.
Willow Salon is located at 93 King Street West on the Downtown Dundas strip, where it has been providing exceptional, high-quality hair care and styling since 1995. Their expert stylists offer everything from precision haircuts to balayage to custom styling & colouring and well beyond.
For a small business to thrive for two decades is no small feat, and much of that is thanks to the work that owner Kim Adams has put into building community through her business practice.
“I wanted to create a space where clients felt comfortable and welcomed and stylists had the support and encouragement to grow. I wanted to have a salon where I’d want to work and one that I’m proud to call my own,” says Adams.
“’I’m grateful to the community and surrounding areas, and have clients who’ve been with me my entire career.”
In honour of this milestone, Willow Salon is hosting a 20th Anniversary Open House on Thursday, May 8th from 6 pm to 8 pm, inviting new faces and longtime clients to join in on the celebration with a live DJ, cake, champagne, giveaways, and more.
The event will feature the announcement of the winner of a free full year of hair services: a contest that can be entered by reaching Willow Salon in-person or by phone and paying the $20 entry fee before the May 8th event.
There will also be a $5 raffle in person at the celebration, where entries could win guests exciting prizes courtesy of beloved Hamilton businesses and artists. All proceeds for both of these contests will be donated to Martha House: a local shelter supporting at-risk women and children that Willow Salon has been supporting for years.
When reflecting on the history of her salon, Adams is quick to express gratitude for the local community that has uplifted the business from the beginning, even through tougher times.
“I don’t take for granted how difficult it’s been the past five years for small businesses to continue to operate and thrive and am sincerely appreciative of all the support I’ve received.”
