Winter Lights brings a winter wonderland to the RBG Rock Garden

If one of your holiday wishes is to walk in a literal winter wonderland, you’ll want to head over to the Royal Botanical Gardens later this month.

Returning for another hotly (or, coldly) anticipated year, the Royal Botanical Gardens’ famous Rock Garden will be hosting Winter Lights, a stunning outdoor display spread all over the gardens from Fridays to Sundays between now and January 5, 2020.

If you’ve been to past Winter Lights displays, you know just how beautiful the event is: warm and cool pools of coloured LED light splashed softly against the array of plant life that surrounds and descends into the garden, accented by string lights, live Christmas music and entertainment, and a brand new, striking light sculpture by local artist Tanis MacArthur.

And if the winter chill catches up with your on your leisurely stroll through the Rock Garden, the RBG will also have some hot chocolate, coffee, and tea on hand to help get the blood flowing, along with some light bites like warm pretzels and scones if you’re feeling a bit peckish.

It’s one of the best family-friendly events of the holiday season in Hamilton, so bring the whole gang down to the RBG Rock Garden for an illuminating time. Get it? Illumination? Lights? Never mind.

Winter Lights at the Rock Garden takes place at the Royal Botanical Gardens over weekends through December. For more details, tickets, and dates, check out their website.
