However, this isn\u2019t really any other year.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the COVID-19 pandemic means loved ones can\u2019t safely get together this year, that doesn\u2019t mean there isn\u2019t still some winter fun to be had in a responsible way.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why the City of Hamilton has launched a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamilton.ca\/government-information\/news-centre\/news-releases\/city-launches-winter-in-hamilton-program-promote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Winter in Hamilton program<\/a> by compiling a list of pandemic-friendly winter events and activities you can enjoy this holiday season, while much of the world is still on pause and gathering with others poses significant risk.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Earlier today, the City launched a new \u201cWinter in Hamilton\u201d program, which is an online collection of winter activities, sports and other safe things for residents to do outside in Hamilton this winter. <\/p>\n<p>Release&gt;&gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rHSmKoPNgV\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/rHSmKoPNgV<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WinterinHamilton?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#WinterinHamilton<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/cgfjB4gmuE\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/cgfjB4gmuE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; City of Hamilton (@cityofhamilton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cityofhamilton\/status\/1336090124980015104?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 7, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile Public Health is continuing to encourage residents to avoid unnecessary trips outside the home and to limit close contact with those they don\u2019t live with, it\u2019s still important to find ways to keep up with physical health and mental wellbeing,\u201d reads a release from the city.<\/p>\n<p>A new Winter in Hamilton webpage lists dozens of activities locals can enjoy this winter; all of them safe to enjoy with those in your household during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The list includes outdoors activities such as ice skating, tobogganing, hiking the city\u2019s maintained trails, exercising on the escarpment stairs, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring these difficult times it is important we take care of our mental and physical health. That\u2019s why I am pleased to see the launch of \u201cWinter in Hamilton\u201d, a list of outdoor activities for community members to safely enjoy throughout the winter months,\u201d says Mayor Fred Eisenberger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom our many trails, skating rinks and tobogganing hills, there is something for everyone to safely experience the outdoors.
