New spot for Jamaican food opens in Hamilton

A new spot for Jamaican cuisine recently opened in Hamilton and the menu looks delicious.

Boom Scorch is now open at 187 King Street East, a family-owned business serving up big flavours in a tiny takeaway space.

The restaurant uses 100 per cent halal meats sourced from Ontario farmers, and makes use of quality, locally-sourced ingredients for their dishes whenever possible.

Expect comforting takes on Jamaican classics like jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, stew chicken, fried snapper, and beyond in the form of plates, sandwiches, and wraps.

They’ve also got a few signature dishes including the Scorch Fry, their family recipe for crispy fried chicken; a savoury lamb steak; and the Scorch Shrimp seasoned well and cooked in olive oil.

These dishes can be accompanied by sides including rice & peas, fried dumplings, coleslaw, and fries; and finished with desserts like potato pudding, parathas, and a strawberry cheese danish.

It’s a packed menu of Caribbean goodness that’s caught our attention, and we can’t wait to give Boom Scorch a try!
