Ottawa Street ice cream parlour closes its doors in Hamilton

A popular ice cream parlour on Ottawa Street North in Hamilton has sadly closed its doors and scooped its last cones.

The Parlour Dairy Bar first opened at 224 Ottawa Street North nearly three years ago, serving up nostalgic treats like ice cream, hot dogs, milkshakes, loaded fries, grilled cheeses, and more.

The success spawned a second location on the Hamilton Mountain at 581 Concession Street as part of Townhall Social Eatery: a food court-style spot with numerous stalls for treats like coffee, Tex-Mex, pub food, and beyond.

However, The Parlour shared news that they have not renewed their lease for their Ottawa Street location, and their final day in business in that storefront was Sunday, May 26th.

“THANK YOU for allowing us to serve you & share in your families’ memories for nearly 3 years,” wrote The Parlour in a post on social media.

Luckily, it’s not a full goodbye: The Parlour on Concession Street remains fully open for business, so pop by for a cone this summer to show them some love!
