Roller skate rental service sets up shop at Hamilton’s Pier 8

Just in time for summer fun, a roller skate rental service has popped up by the outdoor rink Hamilton’s Pier 8.
Toronto-based roller skate rental pop-up SUSO Skate Co. (or, Summer Solstice Skate Co.) will be offering roller skate rentals to locals on weekends from now until the end of August at Hamilton’s waterfront.
The service couldn’t come at a better time, following the Hamilton Waterfront Trust’s decision to end its own roller skate rental service this year due to the prohibitive costs associated with deteriorating equipment in need of repairs or replacement.
SUSO Skate Co. will be present at the Pier 8 outdoor rink on weekends: their hours are Fridays from 4 pm to 10 pm, Saturdays from 1 pm to 9 pm, and Sundays from 1 pm to 7 pm.
While walk-up rentals will be offered, it is recommended that locals pre-book their skates through SUSO’s website. A specific date and time can be reserved, as well as a duration, with one hour of skate rental at $15, two hours at $20, and three hours at $25.
Of course, Hamiltonians who own roller skates already can simply bring them down to the Hamilton waterfront and enjoy this free outdoor skating rink anytime.
