An employee at the Shoppers Drug Mart location in Hamilton Mountain Plaza has tested positive for COVID-19.
The drug store, located on Upper James near Fennell Avenue, was subsequently closed on Monday for a deep cleaning, and all employees who may have come in contact with the positive employee have been instructed to self-isolate for two weeks at home and self-monitor for potential symptoms.

The company says the positive employee has not been in the location since April 9th. When at work, the employee experienced no symptoms of the novel coronavirus.
After a deep cleaning and increased ongoing sanitation measures under consultation from Hamilton public health, the Shoppers location was able to reopen for business on Tuesday.
This news comes not too long after Frank’s No Frills, another business still open to shoppers on the Hamilton Mountain, had announced that one of its own employees had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Earlier on, a reported positive case nearby with an employee of the McDonald’s at Rymal and Upper James was found to be fake.
Currently, the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Hamilton is at 348, with 153 of those cases now considered resolved.
