Hamilton restaurant for locally sourced food closes its doors

A Hamilton restaurant that specialized in dishes made with locally sourced ingredients has closed its doors.

The North Fork first opened in July 2021 in the International Village at 215 King Street East: the former home of sports bar Jabronies.

The simple and appealing menu featured quality takes on familiar favourites like burgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, pastas, salads, steak frites, seafood paella, and so much more alongside some shareable appetizers, desserts, and local wine & beer.

Sadly, the restaurant has recently closed up shop with no real public notice or fanfare; their last social media post was in August 2023, and Google still lists The North Fork as open for business.

However, a pass by the 215 King Street East space in person reveals that The North Fork has vacated, with a new Indian restaurant – Best of Bengal – preparing to take its place.

A reason for The North Fork’s closure has not been publicized.
