Tiny Hamilton market for fine foods has closed its doors

A quaint Hamilton market for a well curated selection of fine foods has quietly closed its doors.

Crown Point Market seems to have unceremoniously said goodbye to its storefront at 162 Ottawa Street North in the Crown Point neighbourhood.

A Google search for the business shows that Crown Point Market is permanently closed. Additionally, their website has been deactivated and their Instagram hasn’t seen a new post since October 2022.

Crown Point Market originally opened in December of 2020, joining the Ottawa Street strip as a purveyor of food items like fresh pasta, sourdough bread, oils & preserves, homemade sauces, elevated snacks, and much more.

A reason for the closure hasn’t been made public, but Crown Point Market was notably a few short blocks down from other small independent grocers like Ottawa Market, which offers local produce, breads, dairy, and more; and Murray’s Farm Butcher Shop.

No word yet on whether Crown Point Market will re-manifest in some other location or form in Hamilton in the near future!
