Bogle Seeds closed for season

Bogle Seeds, a sixth-generation grain and seed farm, is the largest grower of sunflowers in Ontario. Earlier this month, the farm opened to the public for people to enjoy the sight of thousands of flowers. As word of this majestic farm spread across social media, hundreds of  sunflower fans flocked to Bogle Seeds.

What was supposed to be a summer paradise quickly turned into absolute chaos.

Over the weekend, hundreds of vehicles caused a traffic jam on Safari Road at Highway 6 North. Visitors were parking along the soft shoulder of the busy highway, walking across multiple lanes of traffic to get to the farm.

The influx of pedestrians and traffic became so bad that police offers were called to help marshal traffic.

On Sunday night, Bogle Seeds shared on their website that the sunflower fields are officially closed for the season. While the farm owners appreciate that people travelled from far and wide to visit, they ask for the public not to trespass on their property.

While many are disappointed by Bogle Seeds’ closure, it’s for the best in terms of public safety.
