Hamilton brings back Name the Plow for 2024

Hamilton is once again asking residents to flex their creative muscles and help name the city’s fleet of snowplows for the 2024 winter season. 

Ten additional snowplows will be given fun names submitted and voted on by residents, to join the existing monikers from last season including Max Kermanator, Icekee-Wee-Wee, Clearopathra, and CTRL-SALT-DELETE.

Locals have from now until January 21st to submit their most creative, family-friendly name ideas for this year’s fleet. From there, a committee will release a shortlist of their 20 favourite name ideas for public voting from January 22nd to 28th. 

The end result will be a top 10 of submitted names that will be officially given to city snow clearing vehicles. Those winners will be announced the week of January 29th. 

This was a fun initiative in 2023 and we can’t wait to see what names Hamiltonians come up with for 2024!
