Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) approved a staggered return to classes and a mask requirement for all students JK to Grade 12 as part of it’s back to school plan.
In a meeting late Thursday night, trustees unanimously voted in favour of the two new components of the plan.
HWCDSB Chair Pat Daly said the staggered reopening will take place over the first two weeks of school in order to allow students time to adjust to the new health and safety protocols.

The plan for HWCDSB’s staggered reopening will be provided as soon as possible.
Over at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB), parents now have until next week to declare their intentions of whether they will have their children in the classroom or online.
Parents will need to complete the online registration form by August 25th.
The parent portal has slowed down the declaration process as the site has been overwhelmed with users resulting in certain glitches and errors.
Students are supposed to return to class on September 8th. Education Minister Stephen Lecce said that all school boards must be operating with full instruction by September 22nd.
