Hamilton leaf and yard waste collection resuming on bi-weekly basis

Sitting on a bag or two of leaves and twigs with nowhere to go?

Well, good news: the City of Hamilton has announced it will be resuming collection of yard waste from city residences on a temporarily bi-weekly basis, after a period of total service suspension to help keep city workers safe amid COVID-19.

Beginning Monday April 20th and continuing similarly until the end of June of this year, yard waste collection will be happening in alternating areas of the city.

The first, titled Area A, covers the communities of Ancaster, Flamborough, Glanbrook, and Stoney Creek. The second, titled Area B, will see collection done on the Hamilton Mountain and within the lower city.

Area A’s collection will occur on April 20th, May 4th, May 18th, and June 1st and 15th. Area B’s will occur during the weeks in between, on April 27th, May 11th, May 25th, and June 8th and 22nd. Locals with yard waste to dispose of should place their bags at the curb by 7 am on collection days to ensure pick-up.

More details on the new yard waste collection schedule can be found on the City of Hamilton website.
