Hamilton’s humidex will feel like 40°C

We might be starting to feel the fall vibes, but summer weather is back with a vengeance.

Earlier this morning, Environment Canada issued a heat warning advising the public of hot and humid temperatures. Temperatures this afternoon are expected to reach 31°C with humidex values making it feel like 40°C.

Tonight’s overnight low will only come down to the low twenties, providing minimal relief from the heat.

While the heat warning is expected to end at 9 pm, hot and humid conditions remain in the forecast into Wednesday.

Before the humidex, Tuesday’s high is estimated to reach 30°C, while Wednesday’s is expected to reach 28°C.

Planning on being outside? Make sure to wear a hat, put on sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

Try to hang out in the shade as much as you can!

Looking for fun ways to keep cool? We recommend checking out some of Hamilton’s best art galleries (hello, air conditioning!), grabbing an ice cream cone or heading out to a public swim.

Public swims are usually $3.30 for kids and seniors, $4.95 for adults or $9.80 for families. What’s even better is that public swims are actually free during heat events! Definitely check out the city website for pool hours before heading on over.

Whatever you end up doing today, have fun but make sure to stay safe. Take breaks, find air conditioning and stay hydrated.

How do you keep cool when the temperature rises? Let us know in the comments.
