Hamilton, put your sunscreen on because it’s going to be a scorcher this weekend! We’ve been teased with sunshine on and off so far this year, but now the time for consistent barbequing bliss is upon us!
Today we’ll see a high of 31°C, followed by 33°C for both Saturday and Sunday. With the humidity, however, it’ll feel like 37°C today and — get this — 44°C for Saturday and Sunday. It’s no surprise then that the city of Hamilton has issued a heat warning for the weekend.
If you’re looking for a place to cool down, why don’t you check out one of the city’s spray pads, public pools or recreation centres?
Public swims are normally $3.30 for youths and seniors, $4.95 for adults, or $9.80 for families, although they’re actually free during a heat event! Make sure to check out the city website for pool hours before heading out.
While you’re out, why not treat yourself to some delicious ice cream? A list of local ice cream shops can be found here.
If you plan on being outdoors all day at Bayfront Park’s Canada Day Celebration, then you’ll DEFINITELY need to stay cool and hydrated.
SUNDAY: We're hosting our annual Canada Day celebration & fireworks at Bayfront/Pier 4! FREE @HSR shuttles and free parking at the West Harbour GO Station! Full event details: https://t.co/lMTz7OWJWl #HamOnt pic.twitter.com/iNPEr8k4tX
