New Hamilton initiative ‘Feed the Frontlines’ launches on GoFundMe

Even though there is promising news that the curve is beginning to flatten, there are still many more cases of COVID-19 that lay ahead for Hamiltonians. This means that there is an ongoing, huge need for healthcare workers to continue fighting the good fight — including hundreds of retired workers who are being called to action.
These healthcare workers are putting their safety at risk for us — some are even living away from their own families to keep them safe. They are working overtime and double shifts, sometimes not even getting proper meals or fluid intake during these hours, all of which can lead to physical and mental exhaustion.
The Hammer Feeds the Frontlines is a new initiative whose goal is to help local Hamilton restaurants donate meals to front-line workers in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and homeless shelters.
This means both ongoing income for small-business restaurants as well as nourishing food for the workers — everybody wins! The food will be individually packed and delivered right to the healthcare facilities.
The Hammer Feeds the Frontlines had an initial goal of providing 500 meals and has already surpassed that goal!
