The CP Holiday Train is making a stop in Gage Park

What could be a cooler way to officially ring in the holidays than with the arrival of a massive train festooned in festive lights and decorations?
Well, I have some good news for you: Gage Park will feature exactly that, as the annual CP Holiday Train makes a stop in town on its cross-Canada journey next week to delight a crowd of holiday-ready Hamiltonians.
On November 28th at 7:45 pm, Hamilton residents of all ages will be gathered at the south side of Gage Park along Lawrence Road, sipping free Tim Horton’s coffee and hot chocolate as the CP Holiday Train officially arrives with 14 cars decked out in an impressive display of gorgeous LED lights and decorations.
But that’s not all! Then, one of the train cars will open to reveal a stage where Alan Doyle (formerly of Great Big Sea) and The Beautiful Band will be on deck to play a concert and welcome in the holidays.
Plus, since the holiday season isn’t always the most wonderful time of the year for some Hamiltonians, this free event is also playing a large role in an important charitable cause.
In partnership with Hamilton Food Share, volunteers at the CP Holiday Train will be collecting your extra pocket change along with any non-perishable goods you wish to bring along to donate, accepting food items such as cereal, baby food, canned goods, pasta, rice, and more so less fortunate Hamiltonians have a bit of a helping hand this holiday season.
It’s going to be the ultimate way to say hello to the holiday season, so bring the whole family down to Gage Park for a festive event that’s also making a difference!
The CP Holiday Train, featuring a performance from Alan Doyle and The Beautiful Band, arrives at the south side of Gage Park along Lawrence Road on Thursday November 28th at 7:45 pm.
