As demand for COVID-19 testing continues growing at a rapid rate in Hamilton, the city has opened a new testing centre on the Hamilton Mountain to help address the mass influx of locals looking to get tested.
As of Wednesday, the new COVID-19 testing centre has opened at the St. Joseph’s Healthcare West 5th campus and will function from Monday to Friday between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
A new COVID-19 testing centre has opened on Hamilton Mountain in response to a “significant” increase in demand for testing. The increase coincides with students’ return to school. #HamOnt #HamiltonMountain #BackToSchool #COVID19https://t.co/pv03eXUx1I pic.twitter.com/k3Ee3ynT37

Though currently operating on a more limited schedule, this new testing centre is slated to become a full-time operation upon the forthcoming closure of the existing drive-thru testing centre over at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena as the colder winter months approach.
Hamilton currently has three functional COVID-19 testing centres open: the drive-thru centre at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena, an east end centre at 2757 King Street East, and a west end centre at 690 Main Street West.
Though many locals have been treating these testing centres as walk-in services, public health strongly advises booking an appointment in advance by calling your family doctor or calling Hamilton Public Health at 905-974-9848 to help ensure an expedited testing process – especially as demand increases.
