Employee at Hamilton Mountain Fortinos tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at a Fortinos location on the Hamilton Mountain has tested positive for COVID-19, according to an update listed on the company’s own online COVID-19 tracker.
The employee, who works at the Fortinos location at 65 Mall Road near Lime Ridge Mall, last worked in the store on September 5th.

Fortinos’ parent company, Loblaws, was notified of the positive case on September 11th. The store has otherwise remained open for shopping as usual.
Less than a month ago, another local Fortinos location in Ancaster also saw an employee become infected with the novel coronavirus.
Numerous other grocery stores in Hamilton have recently been sites of confirmed COVID-19 cases among their staff, including Frank’s No Frills at Rymal and Upper Sherman as well as FreshCo and Metro, both at Upper Gage and Fennell.
To date, Hamilton has seen 1,045 total confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 42 currently known active cases.
