One of Hamilton’s most acclaimed restaurants is sadly closing its recently-opened sister location.
Berkeley North, located at 31 King William Street along Restaurant Row, is no stranger to national recognition or ‘best restaurants’ lists, earning consistently excellent reviews for their focused menu, lovely atmosphere, and standout service.
The popularity led Berkeley North to branch out with BN Local this year: a second location at 303 Dundurn Street South in the former home of Ray’s Boathouse.
The new restaurant aimed to be a more relaxed venture, serving up share plates, snacks, cocktails, wine, and beer as well as coffee and espresso in the morning alongside takeaway food.
However, after being open only since June of this year, BN Local has closed its doors unexpectedly. As of now, a reason for the closure has not been made public.
“Our time here in the Kirkendall neighbourhood has come to a close,” wrote Berkeley North on social media.
“Your patronage and enthusiasm for Local made every day special! Being a part of this vibrant community has been an absolute joy and we thank you for being a part of our story.”
Berkeley North’s original King William restaurant remains open.
