Cute and funny Hamilton campaign encourages shopping local

When it comes to crushing that Christmas list, there are so many great reasons to shop local in Hamilton this holiday season.
Not only can you feel good about supporting the amazing independent shops and businesses our city has to offer instead of the chilly corporate guys, but you can also rest assured that you’re investing directly back into your own city. Gift-buying locally this holiday season is putting you money right into strengthening Hamilton’s economic development.

To help promote this idea and the hashtag motto #spendithere, Invest in Hamilton just released a cute, funny short video featuring a pretty sweet puppet as he makes his way through all kinds of notable Hamilton businesses, including Donut Monster and shops in Westdale Village.
That little guy’s got the right idea, too: there are dozens and dozens of excellent local businesses where you can buy uniquely Hamiltonian gifts for your favourite people (and maybe a treat or two for yourself as well). Bakeries, clothiers, restaurants, artisanal shops, décor stores and more await, from Locke Street to James North to the International Village and beyond, so you can finish up that Christmas list and leave your loved ones oh-so happy.
