Hamilton announces hilarious winning names for snowplows

The top 10 winning names for this year’s Name the Plow contest in Hamilton have been announced, and there are some real gems in the mix. 

A fun recent tradition, the City of Hamilton invites the public to submit their most clever name suggestions with the goal of naming 10 snowplows in the city’s fleet. A jury narrowed down a shortlist, and the public was then invited to vote on their favourites. 

The result is a list of 10 names that will be added to the exterior of 10 city snow clearing vehicles this year. 

The third place winner for 2024 is Say It Ain’t Snow with 449 votes, followed by Taylor Drift in second place with 633 votes and Snowmoni Lawrence taking gold in first place with 1041 votes.

Other winning entries include Plowabunga, Fast & Flurrious, Cootes Plowadise, Better Call Salt, Holy MackinTHAW, Sled Zeppelin, and Darth Blader. 

With so many creative names in the mix this year, narrowing the list down was no small feat! Congratulations to the winning names!
