Hamilton Chamber of Commerce announces business award finalists

An exciting range of local businesses have been announced as finalists for this year’s Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAA) through the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.
Every year, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce hosts the OBAAs to honour and celebrate businesses in the Hamilton community based on criteria including entrepreneurship and innovation, employee relations, promotion of Hamilton outside of the city, community relationships, and a strong alignment with their mission statement.

This year’s nominees in the Large Business category (meaning organizations with 50 or more employees) include Cogeco, CHCH TV, and WalterFedy Hamilton.
The Mid-Size Business category, recognizing organizations with 10-50 employees, includes acclaimed restaurant Berkeley North as well as The Cleaning House Ltd.
Then, the nominees in the Small Business category for businesses with 1-10 employees are Soups From Me to You, Freedom Studios, and Mr. Ben’s Music.
There is also a category for Not-For-Profit Organizations, which includes recognition for Habitat for Humanity, the Brott Music Festival, and Arts for All through the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts.
There’s a Young Entrepreneur Award that celebrates local entrepreneurs under the age of 40, with this year’s nominees being Monarch Tea Co, Acorn Counselling, and Miller Box Co.
The Accessibility Award’s nominee is the YWCA Hamilton – Putnam Family YWCA, and the award for an organization with 100+ years in business sees nominees including CN Rail and REALTORS Association of Hamilton-Burlington.
Finally, the Chamber has awarded this year’s Citizen of the Year honour to Blair McKeil.
The OBAAs will be presented at an in-person gala at Carmen’s Banquet Centre on May 11th, 2022.
