Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is giving COVID-19 rapid tests to small businesses

As the local economy slowly reopens and efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic continue to accelerate, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has launched a significant program for the city’s small and medium-sizes businesses.

That program is the Hamilton Rapid Testing Program, which endeavors to equip the city’s businesses of 150 employees or less with free COVID-19 antigen rapid testing kits for their workplaces.

The intent is for these kits to help identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that could otherwise be totally missed, which will in turn help mitigate further spread of COVID-19 in local workplaces, homes, and the general community.

“This is another opportunity for Hamilton businesses to step up, as they have throughout the course of the pandemic, to aid in the effort of our public health professionals,” says Keanin Loomis, President & CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.

“The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide free rapid tests over the next few months to any business in Hamilton with fewer than 150 employees as we join together to extinguish COVID-19 so that we can fully reopen the local economy.”

Hamilton businesses with less than 150 employees can claim a COVID-19 rapid testing kit can go to HamiltonRapidTests.ca to order their kits, which will then be made available for pickup by appointment at 44 Frid Street.

Even businesses that are not members of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce are eligible to receive these free kits.

Local businesses that feature more than 150 employees can arrange for COVID-19 rapid testing kits through the Ontario government portal.
