There’s no shortage of Christmas movies to watch throughout the holiday season, but a recent release is particularly noteworthy for being filmed in Hamilton.
Baking All the Way, helmed by Vortex Productions, was written by Courtney McAllister and directed by Yannick Bisson of Murdoch Mysteries fame, who also stars in the film.
The cozy Christmas comedy follows Julia Wilson, a Chicago pastry chef, as she seeks out the perfect gingerbread recipe to complete her curated cookbook of recipies from across the country.
When she finds such a recipe at a noteworthy small-town bakery, she is met with some resistance by Kris Thompson, the bakery’s owner, who is reluctant to share his secret recipe.
Shot in 2021, Baking All the Way was filmed on-location in numerous spots throughout Hamilton and Ancaster, including noticeable areas like James Street North and Hess Village among others.
The film – which also features Cory Lee from Degrassi: The Next Generation and legendary Canadian comedian Colin Mochrie – premiered on Lifetime this year and is available to stream via Prime Video.
