Hamilton lands on Forbes list of Canada’s top under-the-radar foodie destinations

The national recognition for Hamilton’s burgeoning culinary scene just keeps coming in, as the city has landed on business magazine Forbes’ recently-released list of the top 7 under-the-radar foodie destinations in all of Canada.

The list, which also includes notable national food spots like Quebec City, St. John’s, Victoria, and Winnipeg, cites Hamilton as having “one of Canada’s top – if most unexpected – epicurean adventures.” Certainly not light praise!

Hamilton’s entry on the list goes on to shout out some undeniable culinary highlights, including Donut Monster, Hambrgr, The Burnt Tongue, Merit Brewing, and Brux House.

Of course, as locals well know, that’s barely the tip of the iceberg in a city with a culinary scene growing at a breathlessly rapid rate. From wine bars to gastropubs, vegan eateries to meat-heavy havens, humble lunch takeaway spots to world-class fine dining, Hamilton pretty much has it all when it comes to food options of all types and stripes.

This is hardly the first time Hamilton has made national news for its food offerings; in fact, for 2019, local fine dining spot Berkeley North landed itself on OpenTable’s 2019 list of the top 50 restaurants for a date in all of Canada.

With a local food scene that continues to grow, Hamiltonians can be sure that these prestigious recognitions are going to keep on coming right along with it!
