Though it’s not the most pleasant milestone, Hamilton has just confirmed 4 new cases of COVID-19 in the city as of Wednesday morning, officially pushing the total confirmed cases to date to over 1,000 since the pandemic first hit the city.
Hamilton’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases now sits at 1,003; a number that has climbed relatively steadily since the city saw its very first case nearly six months ago on March 11th.

Of that overall number, 82 known cases are still active within the city, 876 are now considered resolved, and 45 resulted in deaths. However, these numbers could very well be larger, as they only constitute the cases that Hamilton public health has directly accounted for.
These increases in new cases have also featured a recent particular trend in infections found among city residents between the ages of 10 to 19; an ominous statistic as the Hamilton public school board readies itself for a return to school in just a few days and public health officials predict a forthcoming second wave.
