Hamilton wants to hear from its youth

Hamiltonians have always had grit. We are an ambitious, creative city full of hardworking individuals who are just trying to thrive through this rat race we call life.

While Hamilton is an exciting city to live in, it isn’t the easiest place for youth to plan their future. With high rent costs, lack of jobs and minimal benefits, Hamilton is a tough place to lay down roots.

The City of Hamilton knows that its youth wants to be successful but are struggling to kick-start their lives.

That’s why the city wants to hear from its young residents and discuss what they need to be more successful.

Hamilton has launched a new survey designed for residents between the ages of 14 and 29. The goal of this survey is twofold: to hear from young Hamiltonians how the city can become more youth friendly as well as to collect input to build a five-year youth strategy.

The youth strategy steering committee will take the information collected via the survey and use it to provide recommendations to city council early next year.

The survey will be available until September 30.

How do you think Hamilton could be more youth friendly? What do you struggle with as a young Hamiltonian? Let us know in the comments.
